Hayesie-isms 08.23.15

Everyday I turn around and it seems like Hayes is just growing up and changing in one way or another. He is getting to be very independent and so smart. Here are a few things about my angel boy as of late:

Favorites:
Book: Happy Farm (Its seriously has the BEST pictures and he loves to spot all the animals)
Color: I'm not sure, he loves to color with Pink and Red
Food: Still Mac and Cheese, chips, avocado, peaches, apple juice
Treat: CHOCOLATE!
Activity: Long boarding with Dad, stomping in puddles, nursery
Show: Curious George, Aladdin

Funny things he says/does:
He calls Gator- Gator lish, or Lish.
He says sorry really funny, its like sor sor, and he gets a really sad funny face when he says it
He calls his grandmas "Grampies" and his grandpas "Pops"
He asks for bread almost every morning when he wakes up
Last week we were on a walk and we say an old stroller tipped over on the side of the road. This made Hayes very upset! He kept yelling "Oh no! Troller! Troller!"
After we got back from seeing Kati's baby we were getting ready to go over to Sam's mom's house for our normal routine. Hayes kept asking about "baby". I told him that Cooper lives in Salt Lake and we were going to Grandma Sydney's house. He looked at me and said "Baby grandma?" Like he thought Sydney had Kati's baby. hahaha I explained to him that Grandma didn't have any babies at her house and he did not like that. haha.
He asks to his friend Banna's house (Savannah) at least a few times a week.
He has started repeating a lot of things we say and he says "Hit Dad" "Hit Mom" "Hit Gator" and then usually laughs and yells "NO NO NO!" (think he's heard that a lot or what?)
He is really good at our magnet board games and cheers himself on a lot! Every time he picks the right spot for a shape or a letter he yells "Whoo Hoo Yay!" and throws his hands in the air.
He asks me if we can "Watch Dad Board" A LOT!
He LOVES to watch for the garbage truck every week, and cheers when he honks at us.
He HATES it if I put Sam's hat on and will usually throw a temper tantrum if I put it on.
Whenever he gets wild he will either yell or whisper "Crazy Crazy!" haha
He loves to play hid and seek and is great at finding people but terrible at hiding, He can't stop laughing or he will jump out and yell "Here Here!"
Whenever we put his shirt on he says "Where's Hayes!" "There he is!" hahaha (I didn't realize how much I said that to him.)
He can count to ten
Whenever he goes to time out he throws his diapers on the ground, and then when we come the first thing he says is "Mess, big mess!"
He asks me if we can go for a walk almost everyday when I put him to bed ( try to get out of bed time, little smarty pants).
He still loves to sing

He is still the funniest, spunkiest, silliest boy I know. He is so much fun, so much work, and brings more joy to us than we know what to do with. Everyday I look and him and just think how amazing he is and how lucky I feel to be his mama. This kid is going to move mountains I tell you.

Pine Valley 08.23.15

We took a drive up to Pine Valley after church today. It was so nice to get away and go for a little hike with our little family. We all love to get up there and cool off and spend some time together. Gator was thrilled to be out roaming and then we found a stream and Gator thought he died and went to heaven. Hayes was really disappointed he couldn't get in the water and didn't think it was fair Gator got to but he didn't. Life.

Gator kept trying to wander off and Hayes kept calling him back "Lish! Gator Lish!" he'd yell. I seriously think it is the cutest thing in the whole world when he calls him that! Hayes takes it very seriously when Gator isn't following directions. haha. The mountain is beautiful right now and we are so lucky to be able to get up there and enjoy it!

Sam's new truck 08.22.15

Sam finally got his new truck. He has been researching and talking about a new truck for months and months (and possibly even years, I've seriously started tuning him out). Lets, just say he has wanted one for a long time. He worked really hard and worked out a deal with his boss and Saturday we made it official. My mom was so nice and took Hayes for us, for what ended up being more than four hours! (the dealership had a computer crash mid paperwork). It was long and stressful, but totally worth it. This guy hasn't stopped smiling since we left. I'm so happy for him and proud of all of his hard work, saving, and getting new certifications to make this possible. He is one hard working dude and totally deserves this! Watch out world, Sam can now tow a boat! :)

Forts Everywhere

Forts are our new favorite thing, and forts full of throw pillows are just the next level. Hayes decided my shower looked like it was the perfect fort spot. He hauled every pillow on his bed and every blanket he could find into my shower and set up camp. He kept being so silly and laying partially out (the bottom pic) I know it looks like he fell over, but nope, he's just laying there like that. He thought it was SO funny! You seriously can't make this stuff up, he is hilarious.

Trouble

I'm in trouble, and so is Hayes. He has started a new fun thing of climbing into things, like the dryer (or the OVEN, that one I don't even let him play for a second, that one is just a big fat NO!!!) He thinks its fun to climb on the door and try to climb on top of the dryer too. I'm going to have to get this kid a jungle gym and pray I can wear him out on other things because this could give me gray hair. Haha. They tell you when they get over one bad habit, then that's when they start a new worse habit. Jokes on me. We are still working on the no hitting thing. :)

Bubble baths

Hayes absolutely loves bubble baths! He thinks its so funny to lay on his back and tell us to turn the lights off, then he tells us "Night! Night Mom!" hahahaha he thinks it so silly to joke about sleeping in the bath tub! This kid and his personality are something else!

Time at the temple 08.20.15

Last week I had a doctor's appointment and my doctor's appointment is right by the temple, so Hayes and I decided to go a little bit early and get some wiggles out. Hayes is so funny about going places. He is very determined to get somewhere, but then he gets kind of unsure if he gets somewhere he can't maneuver on his own. For example, he was determined to climb the stairs, there really was no stopping him. He climbed them and would stop and turn around and wave at me, he needed to make sure I was watching him accomplish this task he had set out to achieve. He thought he was SO COOL! Once he got to the top he waved and kept yelling "Hi Mom! Hi!" hahaha The funny part came when he realized he couldn't make it back down very easily (these steps are pretty steep). He got nervous and started yelling "Help down Mom! Help!" I waited a little while and tried to get him to do it on his own, but he was sure he couldn't. I'm sure people around thought I was a mean mom just waiting at the bottom telling him to do it by himself, eventually I caved and went up and got him. He of course wanted to be carried the whole way down, but once we were at the bottom he was off again.

The temple is a really fun place for us to go, there really isn't much he can hurt himself on and its just big grassy areas that are shaded by a lot of trees. I forget about coming here, and then I do and remember just how awesome it really is. We talk about the temple and Hayes can say "temple." He also says "temple fun!" hahaha I hope he always has good memories about coming to the temple as a child and that carries him through into adulthood.

Puddle stomping

Some days I try really hard to say yes even when I want to say no. I try to think back on my childhood and all the puddles I played in, trees I climbed, mud pies I made, and I realize that even though it's not easy, I try to say yes to Hayes getting messy and just having fun. I think sometimes Hayes knows I'm trying and pushes me as far as he can (in typical Hayes fashion :) haha)

This morning we took an early walk and found a pretty fantastic puddle. I wasn't going to let Hayes get out of the stroller, but I remembered I need to try harder to say yes, so out he came and straight into the puddle. I had to draw the line when he started trying to drink it! YUCK!! But overall he played and got messy and wet and we all survived. It was a good morning.

Riding a train

This past weekend we went to Salt Lake to see Kati and Mr. Cooper. While we were there we told Hayes that he could ride on the train. After that he literally would not think about anything else, he just kept saying "Ride Train! Ride Train!" Me and my dad took him to ride and rode it all the way to the airport and back to down town. Hayes loved it when the train was going, but kept getting confused every time we got to a stop. Overall, I think he had a great time and I'm glad we got to go. This kid LOVES trains!

Kati had a baby!

I can't hardly believe it, Kati is now officially a mama!!!

Cooper Michael Bagley
born on August 11, 2015 and wight just over 9 pounds.

We are so excited for a new cousin and that everyone is happy and healthy!

Friends

Last week our neighbor friend Macy came by for a little while and Hayes was in HEAVEN! He loves friends and loves to have kids over. Macy was super nice and shared her Aladdin doll, Hayes would not put it down! He loved it!

I need to remember and have more play dates, this really was so much fun!

Brush teeth

This was before we cut Hayes's hair, I forget how different he looks with long hair. I really love this shaggy blonde babe I have! He was loving brushing his teeth and was being so silly! I also just noticed that he matches the shower curtain. :) I must love stripes or something!

Ducks

The other day we went on an adventure to the ball fields and duck ponds. Hayes LOVED seeing the ducks and running on the pathways. He kept yelling "Hi Ducks! Hi Ducks! Quack Quack Quack!" When we left he yelled "Bye Ducks!" I kept getting so nervous because we sat on the top of a big wall and Hayes kept getting super close to the edge.

I love to find new places or re-discover old places that are new and fun. Hayes loves exploring and finding new things. He is very curious and I love blowing his mind with new things. This was a good day.

Doughnut

I recently discovered my favorite doughnut shop has a drive thru!! WHAT? This is SO nice, especially because getting Hayes out of the car is such a huge pain sometimes. I've exercised some good self control and haven't gone there everyday, but it's taking a lot of patience. Hayes gets SO excited when we go there and always yells "DOUGHNUTS!! DOUGHNUTS!!" I gave him a piece of one, and as you can tell, he thoroughly enjoyed himself! A kid after my own heart.
