Aunt Ali

We've been so lucky to have family in town so much lately. Ali and her family came to town this last weekend and we were lucky enough to get to spend some time with them. Hayes is so lucky to have so many boy cousins right around his same age. Ali's little boy Sebastian is almost one and I can only imagine the trouble him and Hayes will get into in a few years. I'm scared for Grandma Sydney and Grandpa Rob's house over the next ten or fifteen years. :)

On Saturday Hayes and I met up with Syd, Ali, and Seb for lunch. We walked into the restruant and Ali and I were wearing the EXACT same outfit. Same dress, same shoes, and even same sunglasses. It was SO funny. I am so glad we have so many awesome family members. We really lucked out in the family department, and Hayes doubly lucked out. He has great aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins on both sides of his family. I know that will be such a blessing to him throughout his life, I know it has been in mine. Geez, families, they are my soft spot for sure! :)

Grandpa's Bus

I don't think my dad anticipated how many brownie points he was going to get from his grandsons when he started driving a school bus, but man oh man has he! Hayes thinks my dad has the absolute coolest job on the planet and thinks it is so great that my dad lets him explore the bus. I wish I could describe Hayes's reaction when he sees my dad pull up to our house with a school bus. It's priceless. The squeals and jumping and yelling can be heard from across the street. This is one lucky boy to have such a nice grandpa!

Did you notice Hayes and my dad twinning? Funny right?! :)

Chapstick

While Kati was down we went out to lunch at Red Robin. Hayes did really good, but had a few little moments where he needed some entertaining. Ash pulled out her chapstick and Hayes obviously had to have it, we all died laughing when we saw what he did! Hahaha! This kid learns so much just from watching, its almost scary. What a smartie!

Loving on Cooper

I've got a lover on my hands. My sweet Hayesie is quite the lover. He LOVES people and especially kids. He calls all kids "Fwends" and he instantly loved Baby Cooper. We told him to be soft with Cooper and so he held his hand really still and petted him and said "Ohhh nice baby Cooper". He kept hugging and kissing on him. It really was the sweetest thing. He also really loved to "help" with Cooper, which mostly entailed sitting on Kati's lap while she tried to feed or burp Cooper or handing us a bottle or burp cloth.

Hayes has such a sweet and tender heart. I hope he never looses that. Cooper is lucky to have such a loving cousin. Sometimes we have to protect Cooper from all of Hayes's love, but it's love nonetheless. :)

Grandma

Kate came to town for a few days last week and we took full advantage of her time here. On one of my days off we drove up to Cedar and went to lunch with Grandma and Ron and then afterward Ron showed us this rad little French Bakery. It was SO good. We picked up some tasty treats and headed over to Grandma's so she could get to really see and hold sweet little Cooper. I snapped a few pics and when I got home I noticed I have a really similar picture of her holding Hayes. These boys are sure lucky to have such an awesome Grandma Great! I know Kati was so excited for Grandma to get spend some time with Cooper.

Hayes dragged all kinds of toys out and we noticed that the toys he was playing with are toys we remember playing with as kids. They made sturdy toys back in the day!

After we left Grandma's we got to go watch McKall play some soccer before we headed home. It was a full day. It was full of driving and family and happiness. We got home with tired eyes and happy hearts. There is nothing quite like spending the day with the people you love most. I think that's one of the things I have loved the most about switching from full time work to part time. I actually have time to go and spend time with family and go to lunch. I love those days and I sincerely cherish my time with my family more than anything else in the whole world. I am blessed.

Cabin fun

We've been lucky enough to spend some good time at the cabin this summer and man oh man does Hayes love it. Because he loves being up there so much, it makes me love even more. I love showing him all of the things I did as a child and letting him have some pieces of what life was like for me growing up. Riding on that green gate and blowing dandylions always have been things I love to do up the mountain. We also walk up this road that's near the cabin. Taking Hayes up there is a lot of work, but so much fun and something I hope he can take his kids to do one day, and hopefully for many more generations after that. He and We are so lucky to have such a great place to escape to.

Peach Days 09.05.15

Ash is so good to get us to go out to our community events. She is really good about being in the know and encouraging us to get out and participate. Well, when Peach Days rolled around I was feeling a little less than motivated to drive clear out to Hurricane to go, but good old Ash said she wanted to go. I am so glad she gets me out. It was so fun! Hayes absolutely loved it! He loved listening to the live music and riding on the train. Me and Ash enjoyed some Italian Ice and Cotton Candy and Sam loved showing Hayes all the cool things they had around (including some big horses). The older Hayes gets the more I know he will want to go to events like these and I am excited to go to more community events. They really are SO much fun!

Park break 09.03.15

Today at the park we had to take a drink break, and today we were lucky enough to get to do it in the back of Sam's truck. Hayes thinks its so cool to play in the back of it, so he was thrilled to be able to take a break back there for a minute. I thought he looked so adorable and I loved that he set his drink on the side. I'm not sure why, but I swear when your kid does something for the first time, its the cutest or smartest thing ever. Seriously, everything. It's lame, but for real, if your mom can't be stoked for every tiny little thing you do then who can?!

Trouble maker

Yesterday morning I woke up and heard Hayes playing in his room, when I opened the door, this is what I found. The sequence of pictures is a PERFECT depiction of his reaction to me finding him. At first, he was very nervous because he knew he had made a HUGE mess, but as soon as he saw I couldn't stop laughing, then he thought it was GREAT! (probably not the greatest thing). It was one of those moments that you either freak out and everyone is crying or you just laugh and take a picture. Sam will be securing that dresser to the wall tonight though.

(But seriously, how sweet is that face??!!)

Hide and find 09.02.15

Hayes loves to play "hide and find" aka hide and seek. He loves to count and gets SO excited when he finds you, but his favorite part by far is hiding. He gets SO excited and he loves to be found. I snapped this pics when we were playing the other night, and yes, his hiding spot was our bed. :)
