Jumping on the tramp

While Stock was down, we went and let Hayes jump on the tramp for the first time. He was not a huge fan of it. I think he didn't like feeling so unstable. We jumped for a little bit, but then Hayes had had it and wanted off. Maybe in a couple of years he will think its much more fun.

I killed it though and did a flip. Hahaha.

Stock

In addition to Grandma and the spend the night, Hayes got to play with Stock. He thought it was SO cool that Stock was there when he woke up. Stock loves the Ipad and was showing Hayes all the great things you can do- like play Temple Run!

Doughnuts with grandma

The night before my mom's birthday my office had our Christmas party in Las Vegas. My mom agreed to come stay at our house and tend Hayes while we were gone. The icing on the cake for Hayes was not only did grandma stay, but she brought Stockden with her. Hayes thought that was so cool to have a spend the night with both of them. As soon as they got to our house Hayes was telling us "Bye" and pushing Sam out the door. He was ready to party and needed his parents gone to have fun! That silly guy! It also worked out perfectly that my mom was at our house when she woke up on her birthday. To celebrate we all ate doughnuts. Hayes thought it was the best thing ever!

His favorite is chocolate and his least favorite is maple.

"The Kids"

November was a crazy month for us. We had a lot of juggling and changes with babysitters and it was hectic to say the least. Luckily, my friend Jandee saved my life and agreed to watch Hayes once a week until things calmed down. It really was the only way we made it through the month.

Hayes sometimes needs convincing to do what I need him to do, so to get him ready and out the door I told him he was going to play with "the kids!" I'm pretty sure he thought that sounded awesome, so he did pretty much whatever I needed him to. Everyday he went to Jand's she would tell me that he just played and played and played all day, which is basically his heaven. After a time or two of taking him over there, I would tell him where we were going and he would yell "Kids! Kids!!" He was so excited. Hayes LOVES to play with kids. I love in these pictures how much him and Jacee look alike too!! It makes me laugh.

Happy Hayesie

Being a mom

I was reading a blog by a woman who lost her child tragically this year. It was so heart breaking and I just couldn't even imagine the heart break that she feels on a daily basis. As I was reading, my heart literally broke for her, and it got me thinking about my Hayesie. What a blessing he is to me. He is quite literally the light of my life. In this women's post she talked about how she missed being a mom, and my heart broke again.

It's interesting to see people's reactions to situations like that. I feel an overwhelming feeling of heart break and gratitude. I am grateful that I can learn from her and that I can look inside myself and make sure that what she is grieving right now, I am fully appreciating. I think she would want that, I would. If I was in her shoes, I would want every mother to look at thier child and love them with everything they've got and to not take one second for granted. I would want them to see the loss and to try to improve their relationships with their children and to be there with their kids. I would want something good like that to come from something so terrible.

That being said, I vow today, to be a better mom. To be there, really be there. I vow to try to never take one second for granted. I vow to try to make something better because I saw her heartbreak.

It's pretty easy with a boy like Hayesie. There are so many things to love about him. He's silly. He's SO happy. He's curious. He's adventurous. He's wild. He's adorable. He's a sweetie pie. He's funny. He is growing before my very eyes and I can't believe it. Nothing is better than being his mom. Today and everyday I am grateful to be Hayes's mom.

Stae and Hayes

That Staelie is so good to Hayes. She just loves him and is such a great little baby watcher. She is so sweet and patient and just lets him be a baby, but also lets him do big kid things. Hayes is lucky to have such a sweet cousin who looks out for him like she does.

Grandpa

I am lucky enough to have my parents help me with Hayes one day a week while I work. As you can probably imagine he LOVES going over to their house and cries when we have to go home.

Going out back and playing in the dirt and exploring is one of his favorite things to do. He comes home absolutely covered in dirt, and and happy as can be. My parent's yard is HUGE so I am sure to Hayes, he thinks he has free reign of the whole world. He's lucky to have grandparents so close and to have such great ones. He may too little to remember theses days, but I'm not, and I'll love them enough for the both of us, and one day when he sees these pictures we can talk about how he is still running wild in their back yard and that he still has the best grandparents around.

For the future

When Hayes looks back on his childhood I want him to look back and think that he got to be a kid for as long as possible. I want him to think back and say that we had fun and we played and things were simple. We ran on the grass and rolled down hills, we played with soccer balls, and slid down slides. I want him to feel like childhood was the best time of his life.

I know he is still too little to really remember any of this, but I want to start a foundation of fun and innocence. I want him to feel like for as long as he can remember (and even before that) we had fun. So, here is my proof that we have fun, and we will continue to have fun until it's not fun anymore.

What He's doing Now {November 6, 2014}

I realized I have been kind of terrible at updating what Hayes is doing and saying. I know I will want to remember all of his little milestones, so here goes:

He is talking SO MUCH! He has started to put some words together too. I feel like I maybe think he says more things that he actually does, but he tries, so I count it. He loves to point out all the trucks and cars when we drive. He can say a lot of his letter sounds, but its hit and miss when he will actually say them. We have started to talk more about colors and counting. I know I need to do better at singing the ABC's and working on things. We have been doing really good at reading at night and Hayes loves to find the dogs and balls in every book. I couldn't even begin to list all the words he says, buts its a lot. My favorite (and sometimes not so favorite) thing he does is he yells "Mommmmm Mommm!" Then I'll say "What Hayes?" and he'll say "What!!" and laugh. He thinks is so funny. He says some words funny too, like he'll ask for water and he'll say it more like "What er" He sounds British when he says it. Its pretty funny. He also says "Teet Teet!" all the time, which means "Treat!"

Hayes loves movies and his favorite one right now is Tangled. He still loves Frozen (or Fro Fro as he calls it). He is starting to love Curious George. He still loves Letter Factory, but I have been terrible at putting it on. I 'll do better. Hayes absolutely loves Story Bots which is just short little clips of animated songs on You Tube. He will yell "Bots Bots!" every time he sees a computer or a phone. He loves to watch them while we change his diaper, and I'm happy to let him watch them because then he doesn't stick his hands down there while I'm trying to change him. He also still really loves music and a group called Beats. They were on X factor and he loves to watch their clips on Youtube.

Hayes hates socks and hates his high top sneakers. He loves his blankets and especially loves them straight out of the dryer. Hayes loves to be outside and playing at the park. He gets in trouble in our back yard though. We have a whole bunch of grass on one side of our house and on the other side its just dirt and rocks. We have a rule that he has to stay on the grass part and if he goes over on the dirt, he has to come inside. He struggles with this rule. On the dirt side there are a lot of gross and dangerous things though and he just doesn't get that yet. I'm trying to convince Sam to put a small fence up and divide the two sides so we don't have to have the same fight every time he goes outside. Hopefully Sam will put the fence up in the next couple of weeks.

Hayes loves books. He has a bucket of books in his room and loves to sit behind the rocker and look through all of them. Hayes also loves balls and trucks and if any of those things lights up, its even better. Hayes is quite the climber. He climbs up on the chairs and sits at the table like such a big kid. He climbs on all of his toys, the couch, the table, our bed, and basically anything else he can. He thinks its funny to try and run on the couch and jump onto the ottoman. He gets in big trouble for that one.

Hayes is great eater but most of all he loves fruit. Grapes are his favorite. He could eat fruit all day long if we'd let him. He loves pears too. One night this past week he woke up and was crying. I went in and got him. He instantly wanted to get put down and opened his door and ran into the kitchen. He pointed at the counter and said "Pear Pear!" hahahaha I gave him one, he took a bite and handed it back to me. He got a drink and then went back to bed. He's for sure Sam's child.

Hayes loves kids. He loves to be around kids and to play with them at the park. He just really loves other kids. The other day we were at the park and it was time to go. He didn't want to leave and was  throwing a pretty good fit. I had to get to work so I said "Hayes, do you want to go play with the girls?" He goes to our neighbors to play and she has two little girls. He instantly said "Ya Ya!" and got in his stroller! Hahaha.

Hayes is pretty silly and funny. He LOVES Gator. One day we walked to the park and took Gator with us. A little girl came running up to us and wanted to pet Gator. Hayes instantly ran to the playground and completely ignored her. She started petting Gator and talking to us, when Hayes saw this he turned around and came and wrapped himself around my leg and the grabbed Gator's collar. He looked at her and made it very clear that we belonged to him. Once she got the message, he was fine to go play some more. I'm still laughing about this.

Hayes really isn't a great cuddler. He's way to active for something like that. I'm really not either, but sometimes I wish he would just snuggle up to me, or let me rock him to sleep. but that's really not him either. My favorite thing he does, that makes up for all the missed snuggles is sometimes he will come up to me, grab my face will both hands and plant a big kiss right on my lips. I absolutely love it. He only really does this to me, not Sam, and that makes me love it even more.

Pine Valley November 2, 2014

The weather turned cold really fast and we were itching for something to do, so on Sunday we drove up to Pine Valley to do some exploring. Gator absolutely loves to get out and run and Hayes loves to see new things. We were pretty excited to see it was SNOWING when we got there! I was glad I decided to grab Hayes's warm coat at the last minute.

OH MY GOSH it was so amazingly beautiful. My pictures don't do it justice. It felt like Christmas, we even saw some deer! We walked around and Hayes picked up snow and threw it and Gator chased it, then we headed home. It was such a fun change of pace and so fun to see it snow. I love experiencing things like that. Things that you just have to be there to really understand. It's fun to show Hayes all the different beautiful things in the world. This was a great day.

Snow Canyon Half {November 1, 2014}

Ron came down and ran the Snow Canyon Half Marathon with me this year. I have really liked this race in the past and was pretty excited to run it. I was getting kind of worried as the race got closer because the weather was suppose to be really crappy. We got up that morning and got on the bus and it really wasn't that bad, a little windy, but nothing crazy. We got going and I felt pretty good. As you can see, we had some crazy good miles! (Seriously I have never run so many miles under ten minutes in my whole life!!). Then it got windy.  I HATE the wind! I struggled with that, but I was able to bounce back and then I got to mile 10 and my stupid head got the best of me. I have got to get that figured out. I hate that my head ruins it for me so many times. It's really just the last little bit and if I could have kept it under control, I could have had an AMAZING race time. This one was really good, but it makes me so mad to know that I know I could have done better. Ron was so good and pulled me a long. I am excited to try some different things and try to get over my head and become a better runner.

Halloween 2014

For Halloween this year Hayes dressed up as a puppy dog. When we first put his costume on he HATED!! He was so hot and just kept pulling on it. Finally, it started to cool down and he liked it a lot more, he also liked it more when we finally went outside. He liked trick or treating ok. He liked eating all the treats as he got them, especially the suckers. He calls them "Teets! Teets!" It's pretty dang cute. The cutest part of his costume was when he would walk his little tail wagged. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Gator was a good sport and wore his hot dog costume for a little while. The mustard lite up and I thought it was funniest thing ever. I think he knew I was laughing at him and he didn't like that, but I gave him a treat, so he forgave me.

Car! Car!

Hayes LOVES to sit in his car when we play out back. He doesn't really get that he can move it around yet, but has decided that its fun to try and climb out of it in a variety of different ways.  He gets a little too brave and tries to stand up and climb out the front opening and about gives me a heart attack. Hayes has no fear.
