1 Month { May 13, 2013}

Our sweet Hayes is already a month old and getting so big. I can't believe how fast time is going by- like even faster than when I was pregnant. 

He is such a sweet baby and we love him more than we ever imagined.

-He still wears newborn clothes

-He loves to lay down and kick around 

-He is thinking about smiling

-His eyes are getting darker and almost look navy blue.

-He loves his mama

-He loves to nurse

-He pretend sleeps and peaks out with one eye, if he doesn't like what he sees he hurry and shuts them again. If he's at home he will open his eyes and start kicking. 

-He grunts a lot.

-He gets hiccups a lot.

- He loves when Sam sings to him. 

Hayes's first trip to Cedar {May 4, 2013}

Stae had a dance performance on Saturday in Cedar and we decided to make the trip to support her. My grandma hadn't had a chance to hold and meet Hayes so I was glad to take him to meet her.

The kids were so excited to see and hold Hayes. Jentrie could not get enough of him. She kept telling me "I just love him!" It was so sweet! Stock was sweet too and said "He looks real cute Kace" and then he asked me "Kace, is he your kid?" Stock had a cute little friend with him and he asked if he could hold Hayes and be his cousin too. I of course said yes, how could I not.

Update on Hayes {May 7, 2013}

Our sweet little Hayes is just growing up so fast. I realized I didn't post any of his stats, so here goes:

Weight-
At birth: 7 lbs even
When we left the hospital: 6 lbs 15 oz
10 days: 7lbs 2oz
17 days (two week appt): 7lbs 7oz

Length:
At birth: 19.5 inches
When we went to his appt at 10 days he was only measuring 18 inches. At his appt at 17 days he measured 18.5.

Hayes got his first bath on Sunday and he did really good. He didn't get too upset. He was more upset after he got out. I am still convinced he may have some curl to his hair! Cross your fingers.

He eats a lot and loves to nurse. He schedule is pretty inconsistent, but during the day he usually eats every two hours. He loves to snuggle and to be wrapped up in fluffy soft blankets. He loves to lay his head on my chest and my heart melts every time he does.

Being a Mama {May 7, 2013}

Dear Hayesey:

Mother's Day this year is extra special for me because of you. This year you made me a mom and I couldn't be more grateful to you for that.

I love being your mom and getting to know you. You bring so many good things into our home. You have given me a new perspective on my mom and motherhood. Thank you for coming into my life and making life so much better. I love you Hayesey Baby!
