Getting dirty

Sydney sent me these pictures the other day. Hayes LOVES to find dirt and mud anywhere and LOVES to get SO dirty. He is so funny. He is all boy.

Pumpkin patch {October 13, 2014}

While we were in Salt Lake we went to Wheeler Farm's Pumpkin Patch. It was seriously so cute and they had so many animals to look at as well. They offered a hay ride and a corn maze too, but we really just wanted to check out the animals and pick a few pumpkins.

Hayes was hilarious. He didn't really get the whole concept and was really just stoked there was hay all over the ground. He was so oblivious of the pumpkins, he kept tripping over them. I tried to keep showing them and thinking he would like them since they kind of look like balls, but nope, he just wanted the hay and dirt. He also liked the decorations on the scare crows. He loved it, but for different reasons that I thought it would.

With the animals he was so funny and kept calling them all dogs. I took some video of him by the cows and when he watched the video later, he called them cow and knew they said moo. He was so funny.

Also, while were there he was very interested in the side by side four wheeler they had. You would have thought it was the main attraction there for how excited he was to see it there. He kept yelling "Truck! Truck!" hahahaha

The Aquarium {October 12, 2014}

I think one of my favorite parts of having a kid is showing him all kinds of new cools things. His reactions are priceless and seeing how amazing everything is to him, is the best for me. The aquarium was no exception to that! He thought it was amazing! I'll be honest, I did too! The shark tank was by far the best part. But Sam and Hayes pretending to be penguins was pretty great too!

Check out that turtle!!! So cool!!!

Temple square {October 12, 2014}

After we woke up in Park City to some SNOW, we headed down to Salt Lake and toured the conference center. It was incredible. We walked around Temple Square and really enjoyed seeing just how beautiful those grounds are. Hayes of course loved running wild and trying to hop into the fountains. That kid is funny and we love taking him new places and showing him new things.

Swimming with Dad in Park City

I remember going on vacation when I was little and the most important part of going anywhere was if they had a pool, and if they had an indoor pool I was beyond excited. Well, Hayes just got his world rocked while we were up north and got his first experience with a hotel pool that has part inside and part outside. He loved it and played for quite a while with Sam. Ali was kind enough to take these pictures because I laid down to take a nap (even though it wasn't a full marathon, I was pretty dang tired afterward). I got the last few minutes of swimming and got there in just enough time to wrap that sweetie pie in a comfy towel and get him a bath.

Play time with Dad in the pool is the best ever.

Park City Pink Series Half {October 11,2014}

I must have been feeling a little crazy, but I signed up to do a half only a week after I ran the marathon. I signed up to do the Pink Series Half in Park City, it is seriously one of the most beautiful races ever. The course is through neighborhoods, on trails, across bridges, through parks, next to fields and streams and is the best time of year. I absolutely love it.

I was a little nervous about running, especially after such a hard marathon. It turned out great though. In fact, this race actually felt 10x better than the marathon. It took a few miles to work out some kinks and to get my air, but man, I really felt pretty dang good. I can really only think of one time that I walked. Thats amazing for me. I really think I'm more of a half runner. Its a good distance, but its not quite so draining as a marathon. I think I may stick to halfs from now on.

Ali, Krychele, and Kim were there doing the 5k. Sam and Hayes even ended up doing the 5K. Ali is such a trooper and did it 8 months pregnant!

After my race Kate and Justin came up and we all went to eat and shopping. I got a little sick after, but nothing like the marathon. It was really such a fun day. Park City is so beautiful. I had no idea. Sam and I drove around and saw all the homes and their main street is just unreal. Sam said Park City is like Santa Clara, New York, and Brian Head all mixed together in the perfect little community. I could totally see Sam and I living there (at least until it gets really cold). When I was running, I ran by this house that I instantly fell in love with. I wish I would have thought about it and took a picture. It was black, weird, I know. But it was seriously, so cute. It looked like me, in house form. Sam said one day when we win lottery, we can buy it. :)

Playing out back

This weather has been so nice and we have tried to continue to soak it up, and our back yard has proven to be a great place to do it. Hayes LOVES playing in his car and throwing rocks. He also loves to pull Gator's tail (which he gets in trouble for). I took this top picture and had kind of strange moment thinking that in 15 years I could be taking a very similar photo of him. Weird, and a little exciting, and a little scary. One of those things that feels like so many things and it becomes a bit overwhelming. Man how I love this little boy.

Teething

Hayes must be getting some teeth in the back of his mouth because he cannot keep his hands out of his mouth. Sometimes he sticks his fingers so far back in there he gags and has even thrown up a little bit. It scares me to death. This teething thing is no joke.

The marathon {October 4, 2014}

Like most times when I run the marathon, I struggled. I forget how much of a struggle it really is until I'm up there doing it again, and then it's like "Oh ya, I remember how bad this sucks". I'm sure its a good thing that I forget, so I'll keep doing it, but man, it sucks while I'm doing it. Luckily Kate really helped me through. I really just need to get my head under control. My body did great, it was my stupid head. But, all things aside, I finished and its done. I made Hayes this fun shirt to wear and I was very happy to see him at the end. He was really worried about me and kept yelling "Mama Mama!" I had a little issue with my blood sugar right after, so I needed a little while to recover. (Thus me laying down in most of the after pictures).

All in all, it was good and I am proud to say I completed my ninth marathon and my first marathon post baby. So, I'm very happy about that.

Glasses

Ash let Hayes wear her glasses the other day and he thought it was the silliest thing he had ever done. He kept touching them and laughing and making that cheesy smile. I bet it was the strangest thing to him. I'm glad he doesn't have to wear glasses, but he sure is a cutie with them!

Gator (October, 2014)

Hayes and Gator are quite the duo these days. Hayes is absolutely obsessed with Gator. He loves to love on him and uses him as a toy, a step stool, and loves to "examine his teeth". Gator is still just so patient with him. These cuties are so fun and I am glad that Hayes has Gator (and that Gator has Hayes). Hayes can even say "Gator" its more of a "Ga Ga" but we all know what he means. :)

Kati's and the park {October 13, 2014}

On one of the days we stayed at Kati's house, we went to Liberty Park and ate a pretty dang good breakfast at the Park Cafe. After breakfast, we walked around the park and let Hayes play on the playground there. It was really pretty and had all the leaves on the ground. It felt like a real fall morning. Hayes loved getting to run around and play. I need to remember to do that more when we travel. We spend so much time shopping or doing things we want to do, that we forget he wants to just play on the grass and run around.

We went to City Creek after ward and hoped that Hayes would take a nap, unfortunately, he didn't. After a quick nap in the car, we went to the pumpkin patch. By the time we got back, Hayes was pretty dang tired, so he snuggled up with Kate on the couch and watched his favorite movie, Tangled.
