Oh man, we did it again. A few years ago we started running the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon with my family and its has been a fun tradition. I didn't run last year because I was still recovering from having Hayesie, but this year we were back up there running. I was pretty nervous for this year. This was my first race "post baby". I was nervous that I would just crash and burn and have a terrible race. I was also nervous because I really haven't done long runs. I run pretty consistently throughout the week, but as far as any real distance, I just haven't done it yet.
The night before the race was a total nightmare. I kept waking up and having terrible dreams and I feel like I barely slept. Well, it was finally time get up and go and we started the race without a problem. Kate stayed with me and I really had a pretty good run. I struggled a bit at mile 10, but other than that I felt really good. I was able to finish strong, and that was nice. I also learned a bunch of really good things to help with the marathon. I know I need work on my stamina. I know I need to work on my head. I know I need to run the end of the marathon like a billion times. I know I need some more music. I know I need to lift more and get stronger. All of these things will hopefully help me have a great race.
This race has been a fun tradition I hope to keep up!
